TV Show - 24 - Viscious and Very Creative Propoganda

Good people,

If we didn't get it enough from EVERYWHERE else, 24 is back with some of the best and most insidious propaganda I have seen to date. First, I have to give them credit, the show is actually pretty good, the writing, the storyline, the action (can't forget the action) and I really like the artistic direction with the split screens and the fade out to the clock. Really compelling stuff.

I, of course, am not writing this blog to commend the show however, but to reaffirm that this show is absolutely shameful as a tool to further create fear in the American public of these so called "terrorists" while further establishing that the US is a victim and simultaneously creating an argument for continued increases to an already overblown defense budget, unforgivable torture and unexplainable and unwarranted attacks on the rest of the world.

Wake up, people!!! This show is classic Fox and it is most scary because it is presented as mere fiction. They showed a nuclear bomb explode in Valencia, California, for God's sake! How many Americans "innocently" watched this show and left with a picture in their mind of this horrid, unforgivable act that may just be slightly more inclined to accept how this country is operating with regard to its absolutely heinous foreign policies.

I only ask one thing, if you do choose to watch this show, please see it for what it is and be very careful about how you filter and process the messages and images of this show.

The Battle for Minds - Welcome!

Hello World,

This is my first blog entry. I am new to this whole blogging thing but I wanted to give it a try. I do quite a lot of thinking about people and how we live our daily lives. I believe that generally we live far below our true potential. This is a very sad state of affairs considering how the world is currently unfolding. I think often about what is the true power of the individual. I guess in this blog space, I am curious if the individual can have any impact.

In some ways, this is an experiment. I am going to post at least twice a week for the next two months or so with various mumblings, murmurings, and hopefully some halfway coherent thoughts will emerge.

At the end of the day, I believe the battle for minds, will ultimately come down to who wins the battle for ears and eyes. Right now, our popular media channels are fighting to keep us stupid and unquestioning. It is time to unplug. The fate of the world now depends on it.
